Finals { part 1 }
For my final in Color I decided to do a project using my grandmother's farm. I wanted to take pictures that would not just serve as a documentary of the farm, but also hold within it the memories we had there. My goal was to treat the photograph's so that they looked as though they were taken years ago. I hope they are not only intriguing to those who have never been on the farm before, but also to those of us who have many memories there.

{ project 3 }
Our third project consisted of shooting film, then cross processing it in development. It was fun to be able to shoot film again. It is such a different experience from digital. You are forced to think about everything before you push the button. I forgot how many little details there are. I also got to learn now to scan film into the computer then digitally print them:)
I also had a great time taking the pictures. Petra (a fellow classmate and photographer) and I drove up to Saltair together a few weeks ago to do our project. It was nice to have a friend there. It made the drive and time much more enjoyable. The pictures didn't turn out as I expected (thought I will admit I didn't know what to expect when cross processing) but I thought I captured some good images.

{ project 1 }
Our first assignment for class was to pick two fortune cookies then draw two of Itten's Color Contrast Theories out of a hat. We then picked one of the two fortunes and had to capture two pictures using each color theory.
Theory: Light-Dark Contrast (Monochromatic)
The fortune: "The social scene can be fun today."
Theory: Complementary Contrast

{ just for photography }
Another semester has just begun. As I was looking at my blog the other day, I realized that a lot of the pictures on there weren't necessarily taken by me. So with the new semester in mind, I decided to create a new blog just for my photographs. Most of the pictures will be taken throughout the semester and from this point forward, so be patient. It may take a little bit before I start posting. Enjoy!
